[Geography]

The surface distance between Kish and Tehran is 1,600 and Kish to Isfahan, 1200 Kilometers.
Having solid and well-protected harbors -- much like those of Hengam and Gheshm islands -- Kish is an ideal place for all types of development work. This, of course, is an added benefit to its geopolitical and strategic location mentioned before. Moreover, it takes advantage of being positioned in the central part of the Persian Gulf; i.e. on way of ships bound for Boushehr, Imam Khomeini, Khorramshahr, Abadan and Basra ports.
The island has beautiful beaches and calm water. The north-western, western, and southern shores are rocky, washed by waves brought by the sea winds in those parts.
Relative to the expanse of the mainland some other Iranian islands rising above the waters of the Persian Gulf, Kish is merely a small island. Despite its size however, the Kish Free Zone happens to be one the world’s largest commercial and industrial free zones. It is only 18 kilometers away from the mainland and enjoys warm and humid for its proximity to the equator.
