K ish island is somewhat of a tropical place, its vegetation which is classified as being semitropical, is compatible with the salinity of the water and has a good growth pattern. Two major climactic factors however, namely the duration of the warm weather and humidity, influence the islands flora. That is why in some parts of
the island, you can see thin forests, bushes and shrubs. Types of vegetation: indigenous and non-native.Thon, lotus and manna trees are among the plants taken to Kish in recent decades.
Favorable climactic conditions, a relative suitable soil and sufficient rainfall in the winter create the necessary environment for growth of various types of plants indigenous to the Persian Gulf area. The island is all green in winter time and the early spring, during which a plant called "Sanil" covers some sections of Kish -- giving it a meadow look and special beauty .
The native trees of Kish island are attractive and beautiful as natural treasures . "Lour" or "Moabed Fig Tree"is the islandsmost famous tree. The oldest fig tree is located inthe northern part of the island close to the remains of Harireh city and is also known as "The Green Tree". Another such tree whose branches extend like a big umbrella on the side of the Olympic stadium.
