Kish Island is the habitat to a wide variety of animal species including:

Mammals

[Picture]Rats, Wild Rabbits, Weasels, and Hedgehogs. The Persian Deer is the most famous mammal living in Kish. In 1984 the Living Environment Protection Organization transferred 40 Persian Deer from Khark Island to Kish. These protected deer are seen frequently in the island.

Alligators, Lizards and Turtles

The Birds

Small Sea Doves, Sea Gulls, Fisher Eagle, Herons, Swallows and many other rare bird species.
The Persian Gulf is the habitat of almost all marine species. Many of these marine species have chosen this region as their habitat in order to escape hazardous environments. Wide varieties of edible and non- edible fish species live in the Persian Gulf waters. Also, a wide collection of decorative fish species live in the Kish regional waters which are unique in their kind.
