Piezo Ceramics
Today, various types of piezoelectric ceramics form an important part
of electromechanical parts and they play an inevitable role in the development and growth
of modern industries. Piezoelectric ceramics are ceramic parts capable of converting
mechanical energy into electrical energy, and vice versa. Among their advantages, in
comparison with piezoelectric single crystals, is their higher sensitivity (up to several
times) and variability in dimension and shape. The piezoelectric property was first
discovered in '1880 by P. Curie and J. Curie and in 1946 scientists discovered that barium
titanate ceramics will produce piezoelectric properties by applying an electric field.
This led to the discovery of some piezoceramics and finally the family of pzt compositions
in 1956 with higher operating temperature range and sensitivity.
ECI is the manufacturer of this product.
GENERAL HISTORY OF THE COMPANY
In the late 1940s transistors were made for the first time leading to the foundation of
the semiconductor industry . This industry underwent a great transformation with the
production of ICs-a set of electronic components in a small chip-and quickly developed.
In view of the importance of this technology the Electronic Components Industries (ECI)
was founded in 1976. This company, having 3500 Mē of clean room space at its disposal in
various areas of the plant with classes of 100 to 100,000 , is among the most
comprehensive electronic component manufacturing companies in the region. it has , over
the years , taken fundamental and effective measures to meet the country's industrial and
commercial electronic component needs and by continuing production and expanding lines it
supports domestic industry in such areas as; active parts, hybrids, crystals,
piezoelectric ceramics, credit cards and printed circuit boards ECI is affiliated with
IEl.
