Description of Iranian Sultanas

Iran has a long-term story of breeding grape and production of all kinds of raisins and has faced with a lot of difficulties in this regard. Despite the bad accidents, however it has obtained a positive saving and has gained valuable experience.

At present, more than 85 varieties of grapes are breeded in Iran from which white seedless grape known as raisins grape is used for production of all export raisins. The other varieties are mainly used in different forms for home consumption.

Existing useful materials such as protein, fat, calcium, phosphorous, ferro and all kinds of vitamins including vitamin A, group B, PP, and C and content of saccharo in Iranian grape made it possible to produce 35.9 Kg. lump raisins with 10-11% moisture out of 100 Kg. white seedless grape. This raisins as far as kind or quality is concerned is unique in the world.

This kind of production, on the other hand, has increased the quality of Iranian raisin. In comparison with other countries products, one may claim that Iranian raisins enjoys a high quality and is absolutely free of any leaded and harmful materials.

Breeding conditions - when to harvest grape - when and how to pick up grape - grape sorting - application of different coverings, these all leads to a natural flavor and flavourable tests in Iranian raisins and prevents from wasting its internal elements.
