Pakistan
The Dean of the Baluchestan University of Pakistan visited the Cultural House of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kuwaitee. In this visit with the head of the Cultural House, he emphasized the expansion of cultural and scientific ties between the two countries. Professor Bahadur Khan Rudini in this visit stated that the student and professor exchange program between the two countries is one example of such mutual cooperation.
Baluchestan: According to the Cultural House of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kuwaitee, the first session of the continuing education classes offered for professors of Persian Language and Literature has been concluded. Thirty-two professors - 11 females and 21 males - participated. During the Closing Ceremony, Professor Sharafat Abbas, the head of the Persian department of Baluchestan University, stated that the Persian language is a valuable legacy of Muslims, especially the people of the Indian sub-continent.
Islam Abad : We are sorry to learn that Professor Dr. Seyyed Sebt Razvi passed away. He played a major role in the expansion of the Persian language and literature in Pakistan. He personally trained tens of scholars. He was one of the lovers of the Persian language and wrote many books and articles on the subject. From among his well-known books, Farsi Guyan-e Pakistan can be named.
Central Asia
During the inauguration of the third Persian language teaching session at the Cultural Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kazakhstan, the Iranian Ambassador to Almati stated that the Persian language is the language of the civilization and culture of central Asia.
Russia
The first session of continuing education for Professors of Persian Language and Literature of the humanity colleges of Russia started in the month of October. Right now, more than 500 students are studying Persian language and literature in the Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Fazan Universities.
Azarbaijan
According to a report of the Islamic Republic News Agency, the Persian language course in the Azarbaijan University of Buku has been inaugurated. During a ceremony in which the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran participated, Agha Jan Abi Uf, the head of the University, said that the incentive for this action is the ample interest of the people of Azarbaijan Republic, especially the sportsmen, in the Persian language.
India
The nineteenth convention of professors of Persian language teaching of the Indian subcontinent, held in Ahmadabad, the center of the Gujarat state, started with a message from the Prime Minister of this country. According to the Islamic Republic News Agency, this convention was initiated by the Persian language professors of India. This three-day convention was international, held with the participation of Persian language teachers from Iran, Turkey, Tajikistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
Iran
Dr. Ataullah Muhajerani, Minister of Islamic Guidance, in a letter to Mr. Babakhan Muhammad Uf, the minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Tajikistan, requested that Persian Language signs and symbols not be defaced. According to the Islamic Republic News Agency, (IRNA) during the month of October the police of the city of Dushanbeh, acting on the orders of the mayor of that town, started an extensive campaign to destroy the symbols of the Persian language from public places and stores.
Turkey
In October, the authorities of the Cultural Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran visited with professor Imkan Tukaman the head of the Saljugh University of Turkey. Together they reviewed their potential relationship for the expansion of the teaching of the Persian language. In this visit, the authorities of Saljugh University announced their requirements for expansion of the teaching of the Persian language such as books, educational aids, etc. The literature department of Saljugh University has students in the three fields of Persian, Arabic and Urdu. In the Persian language field, there are 220 students who are studying the Persian language.
Beirut
The Cultural Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Beirut inaugurated a course in the Persian language for those who are interested in learning Persian.
Greece
Greek citizens who are learning Persian, with the efforts of the Cultural Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Greece, registered their organization under the name The Society of Persian Language and the Interested People in Greece.
